Revitalising a network of public pockets
Many of Fjällbacka's public spaces are underused and empty. A new Folkets Hus could manage a network of changing, temporary cultural events, held in these spaces.
In June 2010 I completed my Diploma (RIBA Part 2) in Architecture at London Metropolitan University. My final project, undertaken with the Free Unit, was a personal project exploring the Swedish town of Fjällbacka, where I have spent my summers since childhood. This blog was created to gather feedback and reactions to my ongoing explorations, but it is intended that the project lives on beyond the academic year, particularly as the town undergoes change and new development. The project continues to be on my mind, and I will continue to sporadically blog about it.
Please feel free to comment (in Swedish if that is easier for you! Kommentera gärna på svenska, det går lika bra!); any feedback will add value!
Feel free to email me if you would like to discuss the project in more depth or if you would like more information: vicky.wagner@gmail.com
